Sergio Pitol review for 3AM Magazine 0

Sergio Pitol

I recently wrote a feature-length review for 3AM magazine of two books by Mexican man of letters, Sergio Pitol.

Winner of the Cervantes Prize, Sergio Pitol was not published in English until Deep Vellum press launched The Art of Flight and The Journey earlier this year.

These prose collections form the first two parts of the writer’s Triology of Memory, in which he investigates his reading, his writing and the way he experiences the world through his literary obsessions.

For nine days at the end of August this year I went to Edinburgh to report on the festivals for Culture Compass.

I took in shows, talks and gigs at the Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh International Book Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Attending more than twenty events across the city, I wrote six pieces about what I saw.
